Pain is not the ultimate mode of perfection. It is merely provisional and a protest. It has reference to wrong, unhealthy, unjust surroundings. When the wrong, and the disease, and the injustice are removed, it will have no further place. It will have done its work. It was a great work, but it is almost over. Its sphere lessens every day.... Pleasure is Nature's test, her sign of approval. When man is happy, he is in harmony with himself and his environment." ~Oscar Wilde
Does human nature surprise you?. It surprises me everytime I see people deliberatley hurting each other through their actions, words or by ignoring. We go on bringing hurt to others even when we know how hurt pains and how much it deprives us of happinesss, harmony and our selves. Seriously, sometimes nothing can compel us to change our ways, let it be degrees that fail to educate many or let it be pain, that fails to teach how to stop ourselves from inflicting pain on others. I am still searching for an answer, What do you think? Is it our false ego or the feeling of power to hurt that might be so addicting to some?

Yes, it does.
They say,"That which does not kill you makes you stronger."
Where stronger is compassionate, understanding, and forgiving.
That which does not kill you makes you weaker.
That which does not kill ticks you off big time.
Yes I agree, provided "weaker = softer", and "ticks you off big time = be careful".
Philosophical loog.
Ignoring Daru here :P
